Michigan Police Executive Development Seminar (MPEDS)

September 30 - October 5, 2012
Garland Resort
Lewiston, Michigan

Thank you for expressing interest in the Federal Bureau of Investigation's and Michigan Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates' Michigan Police Executive Development Seminar. This program was created to provide law enforcement executives an opportunity for advanced leadership training. Only  executive officers serving in a department of 50 or less sworn members will be considered for attendance. This program is designed with small department executives in mind, providing access to information, programs, and instructors previously only available to larger departments.

As a participant in the Seminar, you will independently and in cooperation with others, experience a program that forces you to think about your role as a law enforcement executive. During the Seminar, you will examine issues of importance to people in this role, experience life-like examination of organizational behavior through media, leadership and legal training, share experiences and problems experienced by others in small departments, and develop solutions that will make you a better executive. While the principles of the Seminar remain the same, course work and other activities may change to reflect the need of participants and in consideration of professional trends. This program is sanctioned by the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) and graduates are invited to join their organization.

This Seminar is limited to 40 individuals and applicants are registered on a "first come, first served" basis. Total cost for the seminar is $995 per person and includes all lodging, meals, and training materials. This program is eligible for 302 funding and MCOLES Certification. Applications should be accompanied with a check, payable to: FBINAA Michigan Chapter.

Only applications with payment will be considered for enrollment, and once the seminar is filled, checks will be returned to unsuccessful applicants. Due to contractual agreements, participants cancelling after August 31, 2012 will not receive refunds.
